Hello!
I was just wondering if you guys have had a chance to look over the Concept Map assignment that we have to turn in Sunday. I know there are some different websites we can use to complete it, personally I am not familiar with any of the websites, so I don't have a preference on which one we use.

I also am unfamiliar with the websites so I am open to any of them! Just let me know which you guys would like to do.
ReplyDeleteAlso, do you guys have any idea what you would like to do for our concept map?
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI am not too familiar with any of them, but the one I have heard of and seen the most is bubble.us.
I think our "classroom catering" project should be broken down into different aspects, such as health and safety, costs, nutrition, recipes, things needed.
What do you girls think?
I think we should use bubble.us then since it is free and everything! As for the concept map I think those are awesome ideas and we could also try and include some educational branches like math and the MyPlate program. Do you know how many different branches we are suppose to have off of our main idea?
ReplyDeleteBubble.us sounds good to me! I really like the idea of incorporating math into our concept map. I don't think there is a certain amount of branches that we need.
ReplyDeleteI really like your ideas of MyPlate and Math! I think that we can have as many ideas as we want/need. Some of the ones I suggested could be combined too, for instance Nutrition could be a branch under Health and Safety. I think that Bubbl.us might have an option to share, where we can all edit it. I'll check it out.
ReplyDeleteI was able to send an invite to your Western email. I didn't register for bubble.us, I just signed in with google. Let me know if you did not get the invite.
ReplyDeletecould one of you explain what MyPlate is to me? is it just the different portion sizes that belong on a plate?

ReplyDeleteI am able to access the link you sent us. I am at work right now on my phone without my laptop so I can work on it tonight when I can get on my laptop
ReplyDeletechoosemyplate.gov is a resource tool that teaches about what healthy eating is, talks about exercise, and other informational topics. The MyPlate is used as an example to show kids portion size and what types of foods you should be eating.
ReplyDeleteDid you get the email for Bubble.us? Were you able to edit?
I just found a button that I changed from "can read" to "can edit". So hopefully if you couldn't before, you can now.

ReplyDeleteI just added to the MyPlate sections along with the math section and cost
ReplyDeleteI added under materials and healthy/safety. I think it looks pretty good. If you both think it looks good to, one of us can add it to our blog. It looks like we have a first draft, a revised draft, and a final draft. All that has to be on my Sunday is the first draft.
ReplyDeleteHey guys sorry I have been at work and class all day but I did receive the email and the concept map looks awesome! The only things I could possibly think of would be if we want to label a branch off math and have it be fractions and then possibly putting the measuring tools and conversions under that. Also I wasn't sure if we wanted to put recipes under materials or if it is needed at all. Those are both super minor though and we could include them in later drafts if we want to. I can be the one who adds it to the blog! I just want to make sure there aren't any last minute things we want to change before I upload it!
ReplyDeleteIt looks good to me! We can either add them now, or I am also fine with waiting to add them to another draft. Your call! Thank you for adding it to the blog. :)
ReplyDeleteEverything looks great to me! I think we could just wait to add all of the other things since we're going to have to edit it at a later point
ReplyDeleteOk perfect! The concept map is posted to our blog so we should be all set with that.
ReplyDeleteI think we might have done the concept blog incorrect because in our professor's description she says "Be sure the big project your group decides on is in the middle of your concept map (not the topic of your group)." In the middle of our concept map, it is the title of our group
ReplyDeleteI updated it so that the center bubble says "Cooking in the Classroom" instead of "Classroom Kitchen Catering".
ReplyDeleteDo you think it looks right now?
Yes it looks great!
