Story Board

  1. Here is where we can post about our storyboard. Also, I still do not see a grade under the second concept map. Do you guys have a grade?

  2. I don't have a grade for the concept map either. I will create a google doc for our storyboard, so that we can start on it. :)

  3. Brainstorming, I think we should have a Holiday Traditions page, and I liked the wrap up page shown on the story board example so maybe we should think of incorporating that. Maybe one on Safety and Nutrition and one for creating invitations?
I also think that we need to have a page on Costs/Fundraising and so that could be one of mine.
I was also thinking for my new original resource, I would create an IMOVIE about about comparing prices and fundraising to show students (this would also be a good tool to use before my data collection lesson about grocery store prices). If you girls agree about the wrap up page I would be happy to put that one together as well. Let me know what you think!

  4. Darcy, you can do the costs/fundraising as well at the wrap up if you would like. I could do a power point for the holiday traditions page for my new original resource. I could also do the page on safety and nutrition. We all need two pages correct?

  5. Correct we each will create two pages. Then we place our lesson plans and other things we have done so far this semester within those pages I believe.

  6. Okay, I will do the two pages I listed above then. I can start working on it tomorrow morning.

  7. Sounds good! I will work on my part today.

We need to also make sure we put our two lesson plans and our digital stories in the section where they fit too! :)

  8. Actually for my original resource, I am thinking of switching it to creating a podcast about the conclusion of the Holiday Community dinner, I will then feature it in the "Wrap Up" Portion.

  9. Hi guys! I went through and added in my digital story, research lesson plan, and data collection lesson plan. I also saw that there was an invitations page and didn’t see anybody saying they were going to do one so if nobody is doing it then I can! I also want to create a page about the Materials needed for our meal/ choosing a meal. We can put our PenPal map in that page because the students will be working with their pan pals talking about different traditions and coming up with meal ideas to use in our dinner.
I was also going to create a new research lesson plan for my new original source. I was going to do the research plan on what materials and ingredients the students need. We have our meal in our concept map so I was going to use that and break the class into teams to find a recipe and find the ingredients needed and then research where they could buy it that will be the most beneficial place when being cost effective.
Just let me know what you guys think of this page and if somebody is already doing the invitations page!!
Also my research lesson plan was about the different cultural holidays that occur during December and so I put that in holiday traditions page. Madelyn you said you were going to create a PowerPoint for your new source. Was this PowerPoint going to be the same as my lesson plan (describing the different holidays) or were you thinking of it in a different way? Because I am not sure if we can have both if they are covering the same concept.

  10. I am also unsure about where to put the website evaluations. In the example story board she has websites under certain sections and in ours we do not have any websites anywhere. Are we suppose to put our web eval links some where?

  11. Hey Becca! Just wanted to let you know that your research LP idea is similar to what mine was. The students would find different recipes and had a "competition" to select the best recipe. In my data collection LP, they compare unit prices for different stores.

Also you can do the invitations page!

I'm not sure we put the website evals in the story board. I think we add our links into our actual web page once we create it.

    1. Actually, I just reread the website part. On each of our pages we create we need to include one new area of information besides our New Resource. We include a brief statement of what we will include and attach one or more websites we will have linked so that viewers can get more ideas.

  12. I just wanted to let you know, I have to work from 8-5 tomorrow, I can try to check in through out the day. I think I have all I need for my pages, but if you girls think of anything you need to add feel free. :)

  13. I can do my New Resource on how we will incorporate the holidays that you taught into our community dinner to make it different from your lesson Becca. Thank you for pointing that out.

  14. I added in websites for my sections. I am going to do a new item of information with websites, I am going to have the students create a poster displaying what they have learned about portion control and the MyPlate program. I think I have added in everything that I need to but let me know. I will check back in later today.

  15. I added another website as well. Also Darcey I can change my lesson plan so that it addresses what ingredients we need for the dinner and then figure out how much of each ingredient we will need for the entire meal. This lesson will be more about adjusting recipes by doubling or tripling them and then creating a list of everything we need and how much of each ingredient we need for the dinner and then we can take the cost of each item (from your lesson plan) and find the total cost of the meal. Also we do have a meal in our concept map so i was just going to go off of that for the ingredients.
Since everybody said they added everything they need too and I don't see anything missing I'm going to turn it in right now that way we wont have to worry about it later tonight!
